Kelpies

Kelpies

Enchanting & Wild

Inspired by the legendary kelpies of Scottish folklore — shape-shifting spirits said to dwell in the lochs — this candle opens with a flash of pink grapefruit, bright and striking, like sudden light on dark water.

As the flame steadies, jasmine and lily unfold at the heart, soft and luminous, adding a quiet floral depth that tempers the sharp citrus edge. Beneath it all, vanilla settles gently into the base — warm, smooth, and subtly seductive.

Fresh yet enveloping, radiant yet grounded — a scent that mirrors the kelpie’s dual nature: beautiful, untamed, and impossible to forget.

Beware its charm — once lit, you may never want to leave its spell.

Kelpie _ short clip

The Enchanted Kelpie - Full Legend

Legend has it...

The Water Horses of Scotland (Gaelic: Each-Uisge)

In the darkened lochs and winding rivers of Scotland, where the waters run deep and the mist lingers heavy, there lurks a creature both beautiful and deadly—the Kelpie. To the unsuspecting traveler, it may appear as a majestic horse, standing by the water’s edge, its mane dripping with silver strands of mist. But beware, as those who dare to mount its back may never return.

The Shape-Shifting Beasts of the Loch

Kelpies are no ordinary horses. These shape-shifting malevolent spirits of the water can appear in many forms, though their favorite guise is that of a powerful black or white steed. With eyes as dark as the depths and a mane that shimmers like moonlit waves, they lure weary wanderers, enticing them with the promise of a swift ride.

But once a victim touches a Kelpie, there is no escape. Its skin turns slick and sticky like tar, trapping the rider in place. With unnatural speed, the Kelpie charges into the water, dragging its helpless prey beneath the surface, where they are never seen again.

The True Form of a Kelpie

Though they often appear as horses, Kelpies are not bound to this form. Some tales tell of them taking human shape, appearing as a mysterious stranger—often a tall, dark figure with water dripping from their clothes and a wild gleam in their eyes. In this form, they wander among people, sometimes warning of danger, sometimes causing it. But no matter how they appear, a Kelpie can never fully hide its true nature—if one looks closely, they may still see a telltale strand of seaweed tangled in its hair.

The Call of the Water

To this day, on quiet nights by the lochs, some claim to hear the distant sound of hooves splashing in the shallows, or catch a glimpse of a shadowy horse standing by the water’s edge. Is it merely a trick of the mist—or is the Kelpie still watching, waiting for the next traveler to stray too close?

Will you resist the call, or will you be the next to vanish beneath the waves?
